Howes & Howes Moves to Dismiss Indictment Against Assemblyman Chiappone
The case against Howes & Howes client Tony Chiappone and his wife Diane has dragged on for a year now. Last November Assemblyman Chiappone entered a not guilty plea. Earlier this year, Howes & Howes moved to dismiss the indictment against Assemblyman Chiappone on several grounds. A September hearing date has been set for the motion.

31st District Assemblyman Anthony Chiappone and his wife Diane have been fighting false allegations of campaign finance impropriety for over a year. The allegations began when an activist for a rival political group in Bayonne went to the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office with a set of allegations. The only problem with these allegations were that the authorities had previously determined that they were unfounded. Indeed, the original “complainant” had been charged with making false police reports for making these false allegations to the Bayonne Police.
Nevertheless, the State investigated the previously-debunked charges.
